There we are, 3 generations of Wroblewski men with a very sought after item in the clutches of my very proud father. Every year for Easter my dad makes a lamb cake which always seems to make just such a lovely centerpiece for the table, not to mention an awesome conversation piece for me and my brother. We usually argue and joke about which of us will be the lucky one to eat the ass of the lamb and talk about how well the lamb was decorated, all joking aside it does have a very special place in our hearts and at the table during Easter. My dad makes the lamb cake himself with medium to low quality stamped metal lamb mold that you can buy just about anywhere. Its always a little tricky to make because of the quality of the mold not distributing the heat evenly. My dad has always talked about wanting a cast iron lamb cake mold, and for years i've been looking for one to buy him. Every time I found one the price was too high and it was of poor quality. A couple of weeks ago I came across one on ebay that I just couldn't pass up. Needless to say I bid on it and I won. Once I received the lamb cake mold I really wanted to give it that final touch for my dad. I took it to work and used one of the machines to engrave it, it reads: " To : Grandpa Love : Aimee and Daniel " When my dad saw it he was blown away and I think that it was all the more special because it was a gift from his grandkids. I dont know if the lamb cake at Easter is a polish tradition or if everyone does it, but I know it's a tradition that im going to keep and pass on to my kids.

This is why I love Chicago and more importantly Maxwell Street (my church away from church). Where else can you buy goat meat taco's, socks, stolen cd's, a jackhammer, and shoelaces all within a few feet from each other................and have the privelage to meet this guy.

is what my wife said just before taking this picture. As you all can clearly see, myself and the other person in the picture (who shall not be named to protect his identity.......hint: a very very powerful, important, and influential politician...............scandal!) are both wearing our wedding rings. Incidentially, don't try to guess because you will never get it in a million years..........no really you wont. What is it that they say "what happens in the hot tub stays in the hot tub" or is that vegas, anyhoo I would also like to mention that there happens to be a large quantity of alcohol visible in this photo. Let me tell you something about me, I buy a case of beer and it last me about 3-6 months depending on a few things.

1. time of year (summer months are more conducive to consumption of yummy beverages)

2. food that I eat (can't beat pizza and beer)

3. if i'm out with the guys and we need to wet our whistles

4. if I just so happen to be hottubbing with very very powerful, important, and influential politicians

So don't let the the alcohol in this picture worry you mom...........it's really nothing.

Because my dog has short legs this is what I have to do everytime it snows. Its kind of hard to take a leak when you have snow up to your weiner. The next time we get a dog the "sumbitch" (technical term used for any animal, vegetable, or mineral) will be about the size of Barkley from Sesame Street.

On another note, do any of you people know what it is like to have Wiggle's songs stuck in your head for 10 or 12 hours at a time?

Can't You Just Taste The Polish Sausage And Birria Taco's. I'm itching to go down to Maxwell Street within the next few weeks..............any takers. I don't know when its more fun to go, when its below zero and you run the risk of not coming home with your toes because of frostbite or when its so hot and humid that you have body parts sticking to other body parts that aren't supposed to stick together if you get my drift. I've decided to march down to the bank on my lunch hour monday afternoon and open up a savings acount so that I can buy something like this one day. Based on my calculations if my bank takes $20.00 a week out of my check then it should only take me about 15 years or just about when daniel is getting his license until I can buy something similar to or like this. Aim high with your dreams kids, Aim high.

Sorry about not blogging for a while people but i've been busy planning and building a shed for a few weeks now. My good friend designed the shed for me. You can find some of his other work here. He is as you can see a very talented architect. I should probably ask him why my shed plans are not up on his website. But anyway, I will try to do a better job with blogging in the future. My wife gets a real kick out of the title of this blog because I said it to her a couple of weeks ago.

5 and a 1/2 holes drilled in the ground
1 severed power line (yes I called julie, some yahoo didn't do his job).
1 cut half way through.
2 and a 1/2 days without a/c when its in the 90's.
1 pregnant woman and a 2 year old in the house without a/c.
3 visits from ComEd.
1 week setback and construction resumes.
26 bags of cement @ 60 pounds each.
6 holes @ 10 inches in diameter by 48 inches deep.

Money shot on the cement mixer.......Sweet.
Being able to hug your Dad after almost being electrocuted..........Priceless.

Its not much but its my home away from home.

Here is a picture of my kingdom from 5-5 monday thru friday and saturdays. In here I rule. My wife tells me that I am a much happier/nicer person since taking this job 2 years ago. My daily commute went from 3 hours to 15 minutes. I think thats alot of the reason why I am in a better mood than I was 2 years ago.

About a year ago I got sick and tired of people calling my dog "girl" as in "what a pretty girl", so I decided to have the groomer give him a mohawk. When I picked him up she suggested that I use sidewalk chalk to color it. So do you thing he looks like a girl now? He may be little but he's got more heart and a personality than some of my neighbors dogs. Some of them like to prance there dogs around the neighborhood showing off how many tricks they know or how well behaved they are. I'm just happy that my dog doesn't piss on the floor or eat my furniture

Girls will be girls, and boys sometimes just want to be left alone.

Nobody in the world know how to display his/her pride in their polish heritage like my dad does. This photo says it all. I can say that there is a little bit of this in me and i'm sure that it only increases with age. Note to Aimee: see how grandpa looks in this picture, this is where YOUR dad is headed. I don't know if I should be scared or just embrace it when it comes.

Daddy Daughter Time

It was daddy daughter date night tonight. I love these nights. Lizzie is going out to dinner with some friends so it leaves me and Aimee to do what ever we want. So as you can see the first order of business is of course dinner, she is a Wroblewski and makes me proud. As you can see there is one of everything in that bowl. Goldfish, chicken, pasta, potatoes, is that polish sausage and pierogi's I see? Because the weather is so crappy we decided to stay in tonight, so the secound order of business is of course Teletubbies. Fun Fun Fun, I just can't get enough of these guys, girls, or whatever these things are. It's funny when you're watching these shows with your daughter and you get all into it, next thing you know she's reading a book in the next room for the last 5 minutes and you have been intently watching this show the whole time. Makes me feel yukky all over. Final order of business before bedtime is tickle fights. These are fun. No matter how crappy of a day I had at work or whatever, these times with Aimee make me forget about everything. I know now what it's like to live with your heart outside of your body. It somehow makes living life a lot easier looking into those big brown eyes and hearing "I Doooo" (i love you).

Sorry Neighbors

I would have one of these on the front and back license plates of both my cars if it wasn't for the neighbors across the street. I don't know but i'm about 80 percent sure that they are chinese. Its not that i'm a chicken shit or anything, it's just that I don't want to have to be replacing the tires on my car every week with new ones. You also never know what kind of crazy's that you can run into or I should say that can run into you while driving down the road. I'm not one of these people that is all "Union Yes" or anything, but I thing that we as a country need to start paying a little bit more attention to where the products that we are using are being made. If we aren't paying any attention to the role that manufacturing has in our economy then who will!
